Machine Names

I came across a paper clipping from Network World 2005. Mark Gibbs quotes from an email I sent him regarding machine names, which are named for elements.

I had forgotten saying this:

the biggest downside is that some of the elements have names that annoy some spelling-challenged users. I might argue that this is a feature.

Despite forgetting that I’d said it, not only do I still agree with myself, I also remember the particular user who complained most.
