They will talk to you

Proverbs 6:20-22, from the NET Bible

My child, guard the commands of your father
and do not forsake the instruction of your mother.
Bind them on your heart continually;
fasten them around your neck.
When you walk about, they will guide you;
when you lie down, they will watch over you;
when you wake up, they will talk to you.

   We’re reminded to remember the instruction passed down as guidance and protection.
2. What do I learn about God?
   He uses families to preserve and teach His precepts.
   He wants us to meditate on His commands.
   His instructions are living and useful.
3. What should I do about it?
   I got to do Bible time with the kids this evening, Naomi from her Bible and Calvin from his. His reading aloud is improving with the daily practice he’s getting, which is very cool to watch. And we got to talk about some of the concepts in the stories we read. That’s what I should keep doing: teach the value and application of reading those books and thinking about what they mean.
   Maybe I need a phylactery?
